Please join us in conversation around a presentation from Maralee Harrell, MS '96, PhD '00, a teaching professor at UC San Diego, jointly appointed in the Philosophy Department and the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science. An alumna of UC San Diego, she received her master of science degree in physics in 1996 and Ph.D. in philosophy and science studies in 2000.
Maralee's research and teaching interests include pedagogy, Philosophy of Physics, ethics and public health, epistemology and metaphysics, ethics and social-political philosophy and Philosophy of Science. In over two decades at various institutions, she has taught a wide variety of courses in many sub-fields. During Winter Quarter, Professor Harrell teaches FMPH 191. Topics in Public Health and PHIL 16. Science Fiction and Philosophy, UC San Diego undergraduate classes offered to students interested in Family Medicine & Public Health and Philosophy.
