UC San Diego Chicano/Latino Staff Association, the Latinx Academic Excellence Initiative/Hispanic Serving Institution Workgroup and the Latinx Heritage Month Planning Committee, invite you to hear Rosa Clemente, award-winning community organizer, speaker and activist on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM PDT. Please REGISTER.
Rosa Clemente’s talk is one of many activities and events coordinated to commemorate Latinx Heritage Month. Latinx Heritage Month (also known as Hispanic Heritage Month) recognizes the traditions and experiences of Latinx/Chicanx people and their contributions to the United States. This year’s national theme is “Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope.” It is an opportunity to reflect on resilience and hope as well as honor the contributions Latinx/Chicanx people have made and continue to make to the US.
ASL Interpreters and Closed Captioning will be available.
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully.
